Dear Page Elementary families:
Due to our school's closure and statewide social distancing restrictions because of COVID-19, we are reaching out during these unprecedented times to let you know we have decided to officially cancel this year’s Page PTA Read-a-thon that kicked off earlier this year. To reach this decision, we took into consideration the prolonged closure of school, the potential hazards of collecting the paper reading logs, and the financial hardships many families in our community are now facing. After careful consideration, we feel confident it is the best decision at this time.
To those students who have already collected tax-deductible donations from sponsors which you would still like to send to the school, you may do so electronically via our PayPal account. These funds will be used for teacher grants and cultural arts programs for next school year. To send your donations via PayPal, please use our username: @WTPAGEPTA. Otherwise, participating students can feel free to safely return the donations to your sponsors this year.
We apologize to the students who were participating in order to raise money for our school, but we do hope they enjoyed what they read and encourage them to participate next year. To recognize students who do have completed reading logs, you can take a picture of the reading logs and send them to ptapenguines@gmail.com by May 8, 2020. Once received, we will find a special way to recognize these students for their efforts.
During this time of distance learning, we hope students are still reading and finding joy in the comfort of a good book.
Best regards,
Page PTA Board of Directors
