Summer Camp

Carpe Diem Arts is offering arts-based day camps once again this summer - and we would love to have your child join us! Each camp will run from 9:30a-3:30p, with one hour of before and after care available for the elementary grade camps for an additional fee.

June 26-30 - Art from the HeART:  In this weeklong camp for students entering grades 3 through 5 in the fall, campers will explore different forms of art, create items to gift to those in our community who need a little pick-me-up, and make some fun things to keep. Plus, we will learn to play (or grow in our knowledge of) the ukulele. Camp location in Old Town Takoma Park, a half block off Carroll Ave.

July 17-21 - Arts for Social Change: A part of our Artists for Social Change series, this camp is for youth entering grades 6 to 8. Explore art and its role in communicating messages of change as we look at current issues. Past camps investigated migration, access to healthcare, education, and clean air. Play the ukulele and collaboratively write songs and create visual art to promote change. Camp location in Old Town Takoma Park, a half block off Carroll Ave.

Spanish Immersion Arts Camp: Offered at the end of summer to help your child brush up on their Spanish before school starts, we have two age groups this year.

  • August 14-18 -  for students entering grades 1 and 2

  • August 21-25 -  for students entering grades 3 through 5

Morning focus will be on visual arts and Spanish vocabulary, reading, and speaking skills. Afternoons will bring music and ukulele skills, with attention to songs in English and Spanish. Predominant language spoken in camp will be Spanish. Camp location at Seekers Church, Takoma DC.

Each weeklong camp is $375; 10% sibling discount available. For more details and the registration link, go to Summer Day Camps.

Carpe Diem Arts is committed to making the arts accessible for all. If financial aid is needed to make this camp possible for your child, please email info@carpediemarts.org specifying your request. By contrast, if you are in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to help Send a Kid to Camp!
